Hello and Welcome

My name is Faith Duke, I am the daughter of veteran missionaries Peter and Eneyde Duke. I was born on March 1, 1996, in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, where my parents served as missionaries. My early life was marked by significant challenges, as I was born prematurely with underdeveloped lungs, intestines, stomach, and heart. I spent the first two weeks of my life in the intensive care unit and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. This paralysis is considered level two, which affects my walking and makes it difficult for me to walk on uneven terrain. Despite the challenges, by God's grace, I survived.

 In 2001, my family moved to Orizaba, Veracruz, where my dad founded the Monte Orizaba Baptist Church. It was there that I heard the gospel and was saved at the age of seven. About two weeks later, I was baptized in a lagoon. I grew up reading missionary biographies with my dad and witnessing missionary work in real-time. At 14, I dedicated my life to serving God full-time.

 After high school, I sought my dad's advice on Bible colleges in the United States. Together, we compiled a list of potential schools, and I chose Hyles Anderson College. During my time at Hyles Anderson, I participated in bus routes and served in the "Sunbeams" Sunday school class for children with developmental delays. I graduated in 2020 with a master's degree in education, biology, and missions.

 It was during my senior year that God put a burden in my heart for Bible-less people. I entered the Translator's School in 2020 but faced a health crisis due to celiac disease. Thanks to God's grace and mercy, we found the causes, and I was able to recover.

After graduating, Pastor Joel Byram connected me with Filipino pastors who needed translation. I was able to follow God’s direction and arrive in the Philippines in October 2024. There, I was under the ministry of Pastors Manuel and Lemuel Manzon for three months, focusing on reaching tribal peoples, especially the Aeta tribal group.

The Aeta people have lived in darkness for a long time, with traditional beliefs that include worshiping spirits and spirit possession. By God’s grace, there are now several churches and missions preaching the gospel among them. However, literacy rates remain low, and there is no reliable translation of the Word of God. The Lord has opened a powerful door for me, as the saved deeply desire the Word of God in their language, and the unsaved desire education. I'm soon to be working on translating the Bible for the Aeta people in the Philippines, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord in such a way.
